Drawing from 26 years of experience teaching young and adult learners with vastly different backgrounds at a vocational school, this presentation is founded on the idea that learning thinking is not in opposition to teaching thinking but a necessity if we genuinely want to talk about ‘students taking responsibility for their own learning.
In recent years, the presenter has also worked as a ‘short-term expert’ on various international projects across Europe, Africa, and South America. The insights gained from these years of work are also integrated into the presentation titled ‘I Can’t Teach Anyone Anything.’
The presentation begins with the premise that learning is a highly individualized process, and we know very little about it. What we do know is that people learn differently. Therefore, the focus should shift from a teaching-centric approach to a learning-centric one.
Throughout the presentation, solutions to this issue are presented through concrete examples where the emphasis is on learning rather than teaching.
